At least that's what the fandom and tag call that form lol

If it's not an official name, it comes across as something like "Wolf!Link", where it's taking a character (Link) and signifying an alternate attribute (being a Wolf). That's not how things should be tagged here, so if that's the case with that tag, it may be better to alias it to batter_(bad_form) or bad_batter_(off) or something along those lines.

Besides that, different forms are tagged separately so that people can find pics with both forms in, or separated. At least that's how it goes for Pokémon.

Pretty much this. Exclaimed forms should be aliased to a parenthesis form, and different forms do not imply each other.

the_batter is a character, though. Not a species. The only examples I can think off the top of my head are dusk_shine_(mlp) and nightmare_moon_(mlp), which are both handled differently. Dusk Shine is the name for crossgender depictions of twilight_sparkle_(mlp), and is aliased. Nightmare Moon is the name princess_luna_(mlp) was known by while she was possessed by jealousy or whatever, and is not aliased. There's precedence for both.

In this case, I vote no. The forms are very different. This should be handled like Nightmare Moon, and not be aliased.

That said, bad!batter_(off) should definitely be aliased to batter_(bad_form) or something, and maybe implicate alternate_species or monster.

Dusk Shine is a made up fan name for a made up fan form of an official character that already has a name. The crossgender tag indicates a character is a different gender from what they canonically are, and doesn't need a different name to separate them. Otherwise, searching for 'crossgender twilight_sparkle_(mlp)' wouldn't return all instances of a crossgendered twilight sparkle, since it would be tagged with a different non-canon name, and since Dusk Shine is defined to be male, he paradoxically wouldn't be crossgender as a male. In contrast, Nightmare Moon is the canon name of a canon form of a character.

No. Never, ever imply species from a character. Him being a monster is the normal species for that form, not an alternate species, so if he was drawn as a lizard or canine instead, then he would be alternate species and not monster.

I'm not familiar with the game, but that's what the game's wiki calls them: https://off.fandom.com/wiki/The_Batter#Bad_Batter

I'd say no to implication to the_batter_(off). There's precedent in asriel_dreemurr – the character's alternate forms aren't implying the base tag.
Linking to an alternate form on the tag's wiki page should be sufficient.

Speaking of, I'm thinking maybe the base forms should get their own suffix. the_batter_(normal)_(off) and asriel_dreemurr_(normal_form), avoid the confusion about mixing or not mixing tags.
