May I ask what the difference is?

IDK, I'm sitting here thinking philosophical questions about this: are they still clones if one of them has a completely altered personality, or do we just go for carbon copies of the same person? Do any physical alterations after the nondescript cloning process make them no longer a clone, or are we gonna go for certain specific "percentages" of likeliness in clone tags? How would identical twins be treated, since they could look almost exactly the same and be a "clone" of each other, in a proverbial sense.
Personally, I think this should be aliased to selfcest because I'm sure these questions will be asked by other taggers, so unless we want to set some hard definitions/answers selfcest is the better tag to use.

I think I agree with aliasing instead, clonecest might be interpreted as "fucking a clone, but not necessarily yours", but I don't agree with aliasing as well, because selfest might also mean the character is alone, fucking themselves through portals/penis tail.
And what if the character goes back in time and fucks itself? Are they clones?

The selfcest tag can mean many things, but it generaly describes a character engaging in sexual activities with a form of themselves. It can either be an identical duplicate or a different version of the same character (pretty much an explicit version of square_crossover).
The clonecest tag, on the other hand, solely describes a character engaging in sexual activities with an identical duplicate of themselves.
=========
The difference between the two tags is so minimal that an implication would make things complicated. I’d say alias clonecest to selfcest, since the latter can also suggest the former.

The bulk update request #6232 is active.
create alias clonecest (0) -> selfcest (4608)
Reason: clonecest is effectively selfcest. You can also just search selfcest clone
