I know this is going to be feel like an provocative, clickbaiting post or a shitpost, but this actually was legit happened to me, this all start when I was still a guy who is extremely against furry with known worst views about my hatred towards them, when I started checking out furry porn in Google image search to challenge myself, but one image in particular has awake me a very different version of myself, I started liking the porn and turn it into my primarily source to enjoy, times has past found out what is e621 is, the rest is history.

I don't see this as provocative. I think it's relatively normal. Many Furry haters become furries sooner or later.
Furry Hatred stems from SOME truth & fear more or less. There are bad apples in this community for sure but just like any pedo- or sicko, they hide their presence.
Sometimes in plain sight. While others have their (exclusively furry) kink, known as "YIFFing" which is: To have sex in their costume.

But when you dive past that fear and misunderstanding, you start to realize that most furries are just normal men and women who are living their lives, making money, And drawing or commissioning furry artwork or NSFW.
Or going to conventions to meet each other.

I mean, I was in a similar boat like you back then. When it came to My Little Pony. I was a Brony Hater, but watching the show was one hell of an experience. Next thing I knew I was writing fanfictions for the fandom's enjoyment.

We all find ways to become what we least suspect.

I understand why some people who oppress the furry community for reasonable reasons, but those kind of stereotypes are a factor why people becomes anti-furry, People fear predators and sickening, the those type of people blending/hiding in the community, and I seen a lot of members from the community codemns these kinds of people, which I'm proud they stand themselves up for their culture. But not all people are perfect of course, I think furries with unacceptable or crude behaviour should be taught some civility and respect for others, even the non-furries. The reason why I changed was due to one porn image, it's funny to look back myself at the past with messed up comments against towards to the community that I've used to swore destroy, it'd backfired in a good way, it really opened my mind up at least, hell, coincidentally I was formally a Bronie Hater like you too, I used to think bronies are girly, men who watched ponies are weak, and despising the show to it's bare existence and applaud violence on the characters, ironically I watched old traumatizing animated videos about gruesome pony torture, you know those creepypasta surround pinkie pie? Which was made by people who are fans of My Little Pony, it's crazy once you realize when you opened your mind with tolerance, everything will significantly change your entire life, especially to biases once you removed them from your system, positivity will start to manifest itself. Openess will give you a definition of a human is to differences to comparing then relating to them, being rational will enchance your acceptance.

I feel like part of the problem is despite being a fairly sizeable chunk of the internet population, the furry community is fairly insular. with it being like that people outside of the community only ever hear about the catastrophes like RainFurrest. we don't have any community members that cross over into even the relatively main stream. like, how many openly furry content creator are there with general appeal, I can really only think of one. so the only way for a person with a negative opinion of furries to become un-fucked is to go on like a spiritual journey like what's described by OP.

it also probably dosn't help that everyone in the community fucking hates each other and the most popular furry website is shunned by the remainder or like it doesn't even exist

Damn bro, that SAUCE would turn any normal person into a furry.
Lets be real, Sindoll can make a furry out of a....a....I need a metaphor....
Anyway, Sindoll is a god-tier furry NSFW artist.

Somehow I remember this is my first image from few years ago that I actually liked, though I can't consider myself a furry but an associate with the community that's all, other people have their reception about me, some called me either a furry fucker or a something.

I used to be the exact same way, until I decided to search up furry porn on PH and I found a eipril animation that intrigued me.

You're right, it does sound like a conversion experience video.
"I used to be a devout [insert religion here] but then a member of [insert other religion here] said one sentence and that completely changed my mind!"

sorry bro, it doesn't work like that.
You're way past the "Furry Friendly" line.

People who are "Furry Friendly" are friendly to furries or even have furry friends.
You consumed NSFW Furry content. You're in the furry pot as far as the scale goes.

Interesting, then what scale I'm in since I'm not in the furry friendly individual?
