Topic: [REJECTED] Tag alias: hypercasual -> free_use

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

Free_use has two uses, both referenced in the wiki:

  • Usage 1 (common): Public_use posts, where there's a sign (or body_writing, etc.) that says some variant of "free use"

Example: post #4751890 (sign says "free to use")

  • Usage 2 (rare): "A fetish involving sexual encounters of an extremely casual nature, indicated by unrelated conversation during intercourse, multiple partners, and anything else that may indicate the depicted encounter as no-strings-attached or sex as a mere transaction. a good example of this may be a cougar using a pool boy for quick relief."

Example: post #1728184

free_use(2) and hypercasual seem to be basically the same thing. They're both roughly equivalent to public group casual_sex -exhibitionism -stealth_sex.

So, to finally get to my point, maybe free_use should be disambiguated between hypercasual (=free_use 2)and public_use (=free_use 1)? Is there a tag-worthy difference between hypercasual and free_use(2)? I don't know if there's much point in keeping a distinction between public_use vs. free_use(1).

Keeping free_use exclusively for usage 1 is also an option. (Ironic that I say this, since I think I defended keeping it exclusively for usage 2, many many years ago).

Updated

As someone who's not involved with this fetish community "free_use" applied to hypercasual doesn't meet what I'd expect the tag to mean. Honestly going through the tag and seeing just people in bondage or gang bang/gang rape stuff definitely makes it look more confusing.

free_use and hypercasual don't seem to be the same thing. free_use is for when a character is made available for others to use as they want, which doesn't have to be casual. Indeed, it can often be of questionable_consent if not rape in a non-casual situation. Similarly, hypercasual doesn't have to be free use, it only needs to be treated as a casual situation and not necessarily use-as-you-want. Aliasing hypercasual to casual_sex makes more sense to me.

I think usage 1 is the only valid option for it. Usage 2 is just casual_sex, which is a separate thing. Having one tag cover 2 distinct things, when there's already a tag for the second thing, doesn't seem to be a good idea.
