Topic: Bethesda_game_studios tag relevance to the deathclaw tag

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

Many posts with the deathclaw species tag lack the Bethesda_game_studios tag, even when they have tagged fallout for copyright. My question is shouldn't the Bethesda_game_studios tag also be present since they own the fallout franchise and its copyright? Or am I mistaken in some way?

Bethesda_game_studios doesn't own Fallout, and not all Fallout games are developed by them. Fallout was originally created by Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky at Interplay, Bethesda got a license to develop Fallout 3, which after some legal chicanery Bethesda Softworks/Zenimax ended up owning the IP as Interplay went under. Even after Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas was developed by Obsidian (who included some ex-Interplay developers) and not Bethesda Game Studios. As of now, Microsoft owns the Fallout IP since buying Bethesda/Zenimax.

Oh I was just looking for the wrong company, I should have searched for Microsoft since they currently own the IP.
