The tag alias #72205 braces -> dental_braces has been rejected.

Reason: The braces tag seem to be widely used for dental braces and I cant find posts in it with them not present. The wiki also states dental braces are what is supposed to be tagged. But braces is a common term that can represent many structures built to support body parts, so I think it would be better to alias it to dental_braces.

Maybe an update and disambiguation, instead?

"Braces" means "suspenders" in Britain, so yeah rewording the tag to be clear that we mean the US term would be a good idea. (Although does this site actually default to US terms? "Grey" is spelled the British way...)

Maybe? I think there are also aliases that are generic terms but I cant think of any of the top of my head

Arguably, there are people in the US that spell it both ways, especially for proper names. Caveat: I haven't opened a (natural language) style guide in a long, long time.

I think it's mostly "Will this confuse people?" not "Assume *insert regional dialect* English". 'Boot' is a 'trunk' (opening for luggage or cargo on an automobile) but also a type of footwear and a type of foot-ware(not sorry). Sometimes people use terms like 'cargo bay' for a large vehicle (like an airplane or ship), 'liftgate' for the opening itself on some vehicles, and 'bed' for when it's uncovered. Functionally, these are all the same thing and mean the same as 'vehicular storage'. Not to be confused with 'vehicle storage'. Annoyingly, some people use the terms interchangeably. :facepalm: GD English language, amirite?

i remember i may have come across it when adding tags and seeing a generic word getting aliased, but i forgot what it was. searching through the tag aliases also doesnt get me any results either, there are just a ton of aliases. that aside, updating the tag to dental_braces and invalidating the old term seems like a good idea, ill try to do that instead.
