Eh, I'm not really seeing any clear cases of that in the tag currently. There are a few that I'd call mistags, but probably just because somebody incorrectly identified a non-runic symbol as a rune, such as the fleur-de-lis in post #1907227, which would be wrong regardless of it being tagged rune or runes. A rune -> runes alias seems fairly safe, I think.
