Topic: Editing uncensored and censored pictures together

Posted under General

There's an artist (plumflavor) who posts art on Pixiv that's been mosaic censored, but as PNGs with transparent background, and also on Twitter uncensored, but in JPG format with solid white backgrounds. Is it okay to copy the uncensored area from the Twitter upload and paste it onto the Pixiv picture to create an uncensored edit and upload it? Should the original pixiv or twitter pictures also be uploaded?

Please don't do this. Even if the .jpg compression somehow didn't make the splice obvious, it would be deleted for being a trivial or low quality third party edit and an inferior/duplicate version of whatever post the artist's own picture is uploaded as. Unless someone goes ahead and asks the artist for the .png version of their Twitter/X post, that uncensored Twitter/X picture will most likely be the one kept despite the artifacting in the .jpg. E621 tends to prefer the uncensored version over a censored version unless there's a big difference in size and/or quality between the two, in which case both would probably be archived.
