Topic: Anatomically inaccurate tails?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

Hi, everyone! I was looking at the wiki page for anatomically_inaccurate, and I saw that it says this:

This tag is used when a character or species is depicted with the kind of anatomy and/or genitals that they would not have in real life.

It got me wondering if this tag would apply to posts where a non-hybrid animal with a short tail in real life is drawn with a long tail, like in these posts.

If this tag does apply, should the wiki page be updated to reflect this? Thanks in advance.

I don't really think so. In part because the addition of a long tail feels more like the addition of wings or horns, and in part because there's so, so many inaccurate tails that are wrong in pretty subtle ways. Also for some dog breeds individuals with their tails cut off are more familiar to the general public than unaltered ones (corgis, australian shepherds, dobermans, etc) which might cause a lot of mistagging.
