I think this might be better reversed, the wiki page for one eye obstructed notes obscured eyes as the plural form of this tag, and it would be good to have them match.
Though there's also covered eyes, while one_eye_covered is aliased to one eye obstructed.
makes sense. decided to take a closer look instead of lazily throwing a tag in with its popular counterpart
my thoughts are that any tag using "covered" or "covering" should be the specific case that a character is actively covering or attempting to cover something[1] (their own body, someone else's, etc.) this is in line with the wiki page for covering which discusses it as an action. so basically, covering_* something is a character action and something being covered_* means that a character is actively attempting to hide it.
at the moment it seems like covered_* doesn't get used very well. i'm seeing covered_breasts being applied to... clothing? nipple tape? characters facing away from the viewer? there's cleanup to be done.
i think obscured_*should simply mean that something is hidden behind something else, whether or not that's an action a character is taking or happenstance. for example, hair in front of eye(s), someone's face hidden behind their phone in a mirror selfie, or penetration hidden behind bodies.
basically, something being "obscured" describes it being visually hidden while something being "covered" describes it being actively hidden by someone
or maybe i'm just overthinking. any one have thoughts? am i going insane in the wee hours of the morning?
[1] not including things like cum_covered or lube_covered, since those are more about a substance coating something. maybe you could swap those out to use *_coated but i don't think it's needed. also the few covered_in_* tags could probably be aliased to *_covered, unless people think the opposite way is nicer?
