Topic: Why are replacement beta still in beta?

Posted under General

Im just curious on the matter. Since the site had gotten a facelift why not bring replacement beta out of beta?
I remember one of the janitors mentioning some time ago it was because of not being able to leave a reason for rejection. but i feel like theres more to it lol.

Not sure on the staff end but on the user end, a few improvements could be made. like the ability to revise or cancel a replacement if a mistake was made or an even better source was found. and the ability to add more than one source.
Just a thought.

It's not polished enough and how it's designed strike it out from being able to be lifted out of beta. I don't see it changing in the foreseeable future.

Self-rejecting will never happen. You can't self reject an upload, and the same goes here

While self-rejection of a replacement is unlikely to ever happen, you can request/make a second replacement while the first is still pending. The moderator that handles it can then reject the first replacement and accept the second. Of course, like normal uploads you should strive to provide the best version available from the get-go. and avoid needing to replace your own pending replacement. You can also add sources at any time by editing the post, it doesn't need to be done through the replacement form (that extra source field just makes it easier for the moderator to verify the new version's from a legitimate source and not a paysite leak or something).

true... but it would be a nice feature imo. maybe a way to flag a replacement instead then?

understood. then maybe the ability to flag your own replacement for rejection vs revise or canceling would be another option. like how a post can be flagged.

it's not a very high priority atm, the devs are busy with other features for now but it will be implemented in the future
