Topic: Tag implication: media_accurate -> style_emulation

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag implication #66759 media_accurate -> style_emulation is pending approval.

Reason: media_accurate is a tag used when something appears accurate to its source material, but the definition of the tag implies style_emulation, which is a slightly broader term.
I think it would be good to keep the two distinct, but media_accurate still implies style_emulation, so an implication would be suitable.
an alias might also be appropriate here.

What about artists whose style happens to match the source material, without expressly emulating it?

Although looking at posts tagged media_accurate leaves me a bit confused. Often times it just seems to be on_model. Other times, it seems just pixelated trying to simulate old 2D games (post #5366907), or having a gui or screencap_background from the source game (post #5023382), with additions that aren't on-model.

Yeah, you're right about these three tags being kind of inconsistent. I guess it can get confusing when an artist is accidentally matching the source, but that's a lot of coincidences, so I think I would count that anyways. Actually, I think media_accurate should get aliased to on_model, since they're ... well, there's no discernable difference to me.
