Topic: Issues with Sources?

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

Specifically, folks who upload not always giving sources that should be obvious, like folks' FA pages. I guess it's more of an issue when the source isn't easily found, like some Pixiv accounts... and there's one person I won't name that floods the site with hundreds of images and gives sources like "image board" and "rule34.net."

Not that I have anything against flooding, but all I'm asking for is a place where I can find the original, so I can maybe find other stuff by the same artist. I know we can't FORCE folks to do this sort of thing, but would it be a good idea to sort of have someone whose job it is to dig up sources?

I'm just wondering, is all, I'm not trying to complain. I do the best I can with what I see but there are so many images. lol.

There's also the thing without having source to begin with. Like saving images years ago.

SauceNAO is very good at finding images on Pixiv.
Dunno if there's a way to "hide" Pixiv accounts from SauceNAO, though.

That's pretty much all I do on this site, except for the few images I upload myself. But there are so many uploads that I can't source 'em all :-(

I also try to find sources for images sometimes, since I don't really post anymore. It wouldn't be annoying if the users who didn't add sources didn't post as much, but there's 1 user who posts a lot, and has never added a single source, and I doubt that he finds all of his images on paheal. I just use Google's image search to find sources and it works pretty well with non-Fur Affinity sources, but I still wonder why FA doesn't cooperate with google?

That's me, you know.

I decided to share the source when I am posting my posts most of the time.
Practically all the time for now.

Well one thing I am going to say (aside from please try your best to source your uploads) is please do not put anything in the source field that doesn't go anywhere, such as putting "none" "image board" "internet" etc, because the search hassource:false only works if the field is empty
