Topic: Tag alias suggestion: inspired_by_proper_art -> fine_art_parody

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

While going through a couple of posts,I came across the inspired_by_proper_art tag,which is quite a mouthful,although it does get the message across

How about an alias of fine_art_parody -> inspired_by_proper_art ?

Reason(s): shorter to type,sounds a bit more formal,correct nomenclature

What do you all think?

I personally would just classify it as parody and put it in a pool, but eh.

Edit: To clarify, we currently do not have many *_(style) or *_(parody) tags since if we implement 1, we rightfully should also implement the more obvious and distinct styles and/or parodies, like portrait_(style), comic_strip_(style), etc, which is a lot of work on top of other things I've suggested previously....

inspired_by_proper_art is an acceptable tag, as some images we have are in fact just that. I like it, I use it. fine_art_parody I feel would also be acceptable, but not as an alias. A parody implies that it is a play on the original intended for amusement by either poking fun at the actual piece of art, or using a known and recognized image to poke fun at something else. Not all the images inspired by proper art do that.

Hrm,you two/3 might be right,

I just felt that the phrase 'proper art' as opposed to 'fine art' sounds a bit too ambiguous & colloquial for comfort,but it does get the message across,which is the important thing

(There are also the proper_art & fine_art tags ,in the latter could be aliased to the former,if that's the case)
