ok this isn't to jump on a bandwagon or anything, but i noticed that literally EVERYTHING related to duo on e621 (except that one thing sven drew like 200 years ago) was genderbent, so i wanted to fix that. (i was hoping someone else would get to it before me but apparently not.)

I love the male Duolingo.

I'm 90% percent sure duo bird doesn't have a gender and it's just a logo.

They constantly refer to it as a "he", in both promo material and the app/site itself. So I'm pretty sure he's gendered...

Never seen em refer to it as a man. Strange.

Don't really speak Spanish, but doesn't 'polla' mean 'cock' as in cockerel?

Oh well, this comment's kinda just an excuse to say I fucking LOVE those balls!

Yeah, polla/pollo is moreso referring to a literal chicken. I just asked someone in the Thirstchasm discord to do a quick translation and didn't really think about it too much, so it's not perfect lol. (One of my other friends said that 'verga' would be a better translation, but I already finished the drawing at that point and didn't want to change it)

it's all just slang, depends on the type of spanish. in mexico, polla and verga is used very often. in places like portugal and spain, they mainly stick to the formal name, "pene"
