Other than a small group of people who find incineroar sexy, I've not seen ANYONE happy with it's inclusion.

I wanted to see some god damn Skullkid at least, but now we're going to wait yet again, on DLC at this point. I like how the game is so far but this too much Pokemon and fire emblem shit needs to stop...

I actually really liked this reveal. Definitely not my first choice, but I have a much bigger connection with Pokemon than I do with most other franchises.

My condolences to those who didn't get the character you wanted, but I don't think you're really in a position to complain when Pokemon is so popular. Obviously Sakurai wants to appeal to other people besides the limited obnoxious fanbase who actually knows who Isaac and Geno are.

That's the definition of commercial content. It is owned and made by nintendo, and is commercial use only.

Not to mention how the revealed game modes are terrible.

Spirits = Event matches where you earn stickers.

Adventure = Event matches where you earn stickers. Oh and a cutscene plays at the start that proves Kirby is the mightiest of all video game characters.

Trophies = Lol gone, have stickers.

One of the main complaints about Smash 4 was the lack of singleplayer content. No one liked stickers or badges or that RNG junk. They liked trophies. Adventure mode in Melee was liked because of the 2d Platformer segments (lol gone).

Ken is an insult as he's an echo, but he has more variation in his moveset than Dark Samus compared to Samus.

Incineroar is... just a wrestler. No, seriously, it's just a wrestler. you could swap out incineroar with Kinnikuman and you wouldn't know the difference.

A pirhana plant is neat, but honestly it should have been the first reveal.

At least Classic mode exists and seems enjoyable, but I don't see anyone playing the stupid spirits mode when the online doesn't use it and when you play with other people casually, you're still not going to use it.

It's smash tour all over again.

Vergeben called the roster pretty accurately. I am not disappointed with what turned up. Ken as an echo fighter makes reasonable sense, Incineroar as a wrestling-based fighter is a neat addition, particularly when considering that he fills the heavyweight niche that the Pokemon roster was missing. Another heavyweight fighter makes sense in a game currently filled with fast and speedy options.

As long as people request characters, no Smash game will ever be perfect. There's always going to be that glaring absence of a popular character that people will complain about.

But I can tell you right now, Ultimate has the best roster out of any Smash game hands down.

So if you're disappointed with how things turned out, you have two options. You can (1) Do what Ridley and K. Rool supporters did when they found out neither of their characters got in Smash 4 and continue to voice your support for the characters you want until they finally get in a Smash game, or (2) Complain about everyone who didn't get in Smash instead of finding at least one of the seventy-seven characters currently on the roster who you're excited to play with.

Uhh... your comments being downvoted probably have little to do with whether or not you're "wrong."

I personally just don't like Incineroar being in, not because he's a character I won't be playing as but because he's the most generic Pokemon you could have aimed for. Decidueye, Zeraora, or literally anything else would have satisfied me more.

I absolutely love the outlandish idea of putting Piranha Plant in the game though and I couldn't be happier because of it.

"If it's not fun, why bother." Meaning if you don't like it, move on already.

Greninja is just a ninja. Being a wrestler is his design gimmick, just like Greninja being a ninja, or Lucario being a martial artist. Nothing wrong with that.

Also, it's worth considering that out of all the characters in the entire roster before Incineroar, maybe two characters could really be classified as "wrestlers." And while Bowser fits that niche pretty well, DK tends to punch more than grapple.

I'll gladly take a high-flying stage performing wrestler Pokemon over another sword-user. Hell, they even gave Ganon a sword.

I absolutely loathe Sonic but that didn't stop me to enjoy Brawl nor Smash 4.

You are just being an ungrateful fucker who can't appreciate the SHEER AMOUNT OF WORK AND EFFORT from not only Sakurai, but hundreds of people to bring this amazing experience to you.

I just hope that Pirana plant didn't take a DLC slot that could've gone to Banjo or Geno.

Remember during E3 when a Sun and Moon Trainer Remix was unveiled during The Pokeball Segment? At that point i KNEW a Gen7 Rep was coming.

Despite i don't like him, I'll Happily Take Incineroar over Decidueye.
Besides, Incineroar wasn't even in Pokken Like Greninja.

Plus i do believe Incineroar is more Popular in Japan than Decidueye anyway.

Not to worry, Pirana Plant is it own separate DLC character just to add after the game comes out so that Sakurai and his crew can work on the True DLCs

Also I really like Incineroar (Had started my pokemon moon and ultra moon with Litten and grown found of the heel wrestler tiger) And I get that people want Decidueye in smash instead but tbh, Incineroar seems like a better fit. (Sorry if I'm stepping on some people toes) Like I explain before, Incineroar is base of a Heel(Play Dirty) Wrestlers, which makes it more of a unique fighter and a perfect fit for the game roster. (Not to mention that he add on as another heavy fighter in which the game is lacking in) Don't get me wrong
Decidueye is a cool pokemon and would fit the game to, but Decidueye wouldn't be as unique as Incineroar base on his fighter style. Decidueye would most likely be another archer type fighter ( Which we already have, 5 to be precise. Link, Toon Link, Young Link, Pit and Dark Pit) If Decidueye was to be add in the base roster, most might see him more of a link and pit hybid fighter, like how Gandorf use to be a hybrid fighter of Captain Falcon.There's still hope for Decidueye to be a DLC characters along side Banjo and Geno, but as for Incineroar being the rep for the seven gen pokemon, it just fits so well.

The thing is, Pokemon are all unique designs. Fire Emblam are all Anime protag #7. If a girl is a dragon, go full monster girl with her to make her design not generic. But nope, so Coren was super boring.

Pretty much. Aside from Robin and Corrin, every character is sword + armor + cape. They could have at least changed it up by adding Lyn for a little bit of variety, or Hector for an axe.

I wouldn't have said no to a dedicated ranged character, either- but to be fair, Mega Man fills that niche rather solidly.

1: I got Ridley, K. Rool, Dark Samus, all N64 stages, and a more traditional Classic mode. I got what I primarily wanted.

That's what I'm saying. I'm MAINLY upset at the game modes being lackluster; event modes and event modes with short cinematics, and no trophies.

At LEAST Classic mode isn't a stupid clusterfuck this time around.

What fun is a game with tons and tons of characters if there is nothing fun to do with them?

Let me elaborate:
General smashing is fun; the game series wouldn't exist if it wasn't, and with the return of classic mode, the 64 stages and melee stages, the game looks more prone to having more potential than Smash 4 could ever hope to.

When an adventure mode was asked for, we were hoping for something like Melee's adventure mode where you do short 2d adventure segments that reference certain games, then it ends with a battle; the stroll through mushroom kingdom, the race down big blue, the exploration through the LoZ temple, all things that let you play with aspects of the characters you normally wouldn't get to mess with in a traditional fight. IE: Using wall jumping to move through the temple in a "reverse" way, using Yoshi's egg roll down Big Blue, and so on.

But we didn't get that. We didn't get Break the targets, we didn't get board the platforms, and we didn't get race to the finish.

This limits what you can do with these loads and loads of characters; without Break the targets, you likely won't learn how certain attacks have certain range properties. Without board the platforms, you likely won't learn how certain techniques get you farther than jumping alone. Without race to the finish, you likely won't learn the specifics of what is required to get [character] to move at top speed past obstacles.

What about the home run contest? Again, not there.

Okay, so next to address... Trophies. Trophies were THE thing to unlock outside of characters. I recall doing all the insane things to get the Diskun trophy in Melee. I recall my fury at not being able to pass the Intense boss rush in Brawl to get the last couple trophies. Each one was an enjoyable memory of what you'd done. The badges were just a means to getting more of the trophies and were not viewed as some great thing.

Now, we don't get any trophies, just stickers. Stickers that don't even have bios.

That means we don't even get bios for our playable characters, nor info on their final smashes or tips on their skills.

I'd rather have that than event mode-to-get-stickers, and event mode-wearing-the-skin-of-adventure-mode-to-get-more-stickers.

NOW do you understand what I'm trying to say? Incineroar is a non factor to what I'm personally feeling this smash bros is lacking.

I made a prediction on one of the first images related to this smash game. A pessimistic prediction. Why? So that if I'm right, I can say I'm right, and if I'm wrong, it's because something GOOD happened. And hey, I was wrong about a lot and intend to get the game.

Get over yourself.

I mentioned quite clearly that I still have a lot I like about this game but that it has clear flaws. Notice no one is refuting the flaws I neatly laid out? Instead it's just "get over yourself" and other associated insults.

Eh. Decidueye could have fit the same amount that Incineroar does. But we didn't get him, oh well. There's still DLC. And most likely more smash polls to come.
