Description

The Bushpig, Potamochoerus larvatus, occurs in Southern and Eastern Africa, in forested or heavily wooded environments. It is a typical pig, quite variable in size and coloration: some are brownish, some greyish, some rich reddish brown, some almost black. Some are very shaggy. These pigs are clever and survive though hunted and persecuted for destroying gardens and raiding farms.
