Husband beaters (and wife beaters) are ugly as fuck no matter what.

Not everyone likes the way she was written in season 2, you know. I liked Stella from season 1 better, because the way her relationship with Stolas was less one-sided and opened a lot of possibilities to speculation. AU's also exist, we can like a character and different scenarios where she is a better (or even good) person.

Speaking about appearance only, she is hot as all hell. The canonical personality is another matter entirely (but I will totaly grant that if you do take it into account the character isn't attractive)

I would personally argue as a result season 2 her character's popularity shot up, one reason being was because she defied the trope of a redeemable gillain. Even if she does eventually, she's still wicked, vindictive and an enjoyable character that is thoroughly entertaining, we only caught glimpses in season one.

I feel like people simply had their own expectations for this character and sorry to say it, it counts for nothing. Because her character was pretty much still a blank slate in season 1, and season 2 explains her quite well. People should be allowed to enjoy her even if her character is incredibly villainous and evil, as I absolutely do!

This. As good as HB can be, it has an ongoing problem of being so focused on it's ship, it'll ruin everything else to get it. Viv saw that people weren't automatically on Stolas' side, and so decided to make her as irredeemably awful as she could, fuck all sense of logic or reason.

    That's what I love about Stella's development.
The immediate assumption was that Stolas was the jerk, but they showed that he was trapped in a forced, loveless marriage to an abusive wife.
It was even hinted at when Stolas tried to explain the relationship to Via in the Looloo Land episode.
The writers flipped the expectation on the abusive relationship trope and people couldn't handle it.

    This 👆

People REALLY need to learn how to let go of their headcannons and accept that the show isn't going their way.

The show not going your way ≠ rewrites. Stolitz was confirmed to happen in the future as soon as they started writing S1.
