  • ... Excuse me, but what exactly is it with these posts here being labeled with the tag 'uncensored', which has no relevant meaning on e621, and being marked as 'safe'? That's not precisely accurate. I mean, the first could be ignored under the assumption it was a lazy copy of a post from a Japan-centric imageboard, but what's with it being marked 'safe'?

The script being used to upload just seems downright lazy and hackish. It seems to regularly miss ratings and always misses putting source even if the site being ripped from lists it. What's more is, this pic lists an artist in the tags, and yet is still tagged with unknown_artist.

Compare to where I assume it was ripped from and get a sense of the shortcomings.

  • Nah, I don't scrape from gelbooru, they don't have an API, I probably got it from Danbooru/Sankaku/Nekobooru/*booru/etc or any combination of those.

It must be noted that I first download into my own program before uploading back up to e621, I handle ratings differently (automatically determined based on tags) aswell as having 5 levels (instead of e621's 3), sometimes it screws up, usually with posts with very few tags. But I don't see why it failed on this one.

I don't use the unknown_artist tag in my collection, but I automatically add it when uploading if no artist-typed tag is attached, again, I don't know why it failed.

I wouldn't call it lazy when taking into account the quantity I upload, I also do a lot of tagging, mostly on the non-kemonomimi posts, since no other furry 'boorus exist, aside from r34, but they provide very few tags.

It fails on ALL of them.

Your script isn't poorly made because you use it a lot? That doesn't really make much sense.

Let's be honest here, if you were really concerned with the manner in which it worked, you'd be checking these things yourself.

    No, it doesn't.

Sorry, I misread, I thought you said that I am lazy because I use it.

You're right, sometimes I don't care, is it wrong to be human?

I haven't seen a single one where it got it right outside of the case where the artist already exists here.

Nah, nothing wrong with scripting, that's smart, not lazy. I can appreciate what you're trying to do, it just has a ton of flaws.

No, but it is pretty irresponsible to continually run something that makes a mess of someone else's database.
