Colour Test

So once again I've found myself at a point where my colouring just isn't working out for me. So I decided to sit down and fiddle a bit. I think I might go back to doing most of the texture via ink. I tried this before and moved away from it, but I think I've learned some things that might help pull it together and actually make it work.

I took some volunteered characters from a journal over on Weasyl and tested out some ideas. This is the second picture I did (the first one was a massive fail so I won't post it here) and I think it turned out pretty good. Needs some work, but not a bad start.
