  • The "porno dialog" with these two characters is... um... a contrast? Good for a giggle...

But yeah, even in the movie, those two were destined. Even the animation leads were shipping 'em. One of the most iconic very-early furry pics that got some circulation in the form of photocopies (circa 1983), Justin and Bris kissing, was drawn by Philo Barnhart who was Bris' lead character animator. This was in someone's sketch book back when everyone in the fandom, all couple hundred of them, had black-covered sketchbooks in which they'd collect art from the dozens of furry artists. (there are ummm highly variable quality color/edits/traces of the original drawing, which was a pencil sketch, floating around... one such is https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Efz87YBXsAAGgjP.jpg ... keep in mind the original line drawing was by the character's lead animator).

Soooo yeah, dialog aside, these two getting together is about as canon as it can be, short of being in the movie itself. Per Barnhart, there was even the idea of a romance between these two kicked around for the movie, though it was dropped for movie-length/budget reasons and the concern that it would distract from the "mom fighting for her children's lives" urgent theme. No time for kissy. Well, maybe not quite like this, at least on-screen, but there were definitely sparks between the two the moment they laid eyes on each other. In the movie, you can see it for yourself.

If any of you haven't seen The Secret of NIMH, you're missing out. Watch it on the biggest TV you can find. Stunning visuals, hand-drawn special effects, God-tier voice acting, Jerry Goldsmith at his peak powers in the soundtrack, only one very brief song to suffer through, and a plot with unexplained gaping holes in the story that you can drive a tractor through. Go see it. Bris is Best Mom, and as proclaimed by Mike Vogel a.k.a. mktoon (at one time the executive producer of numerous Hasbro properties including MLP:FiM), "Justin is Boyfriend Rat".

    I tend to agree.
