I often forget the things certain Pokémon wear are really extensions of their anatomy and not articles of clothing they can take off at will. Sylveon's bows and ribbons, Gardevoir and Gothitelle's dresses, Meowscarada's mask... the list goes on. It's actually a bit creepy to think that, if it's not fur, it's extensions of their flesh that only look like clothing and accessories.

It's still very uncanny, though. Just look at Sylveon above: Its "bows" are large growths on its neck and the base of its left ear, and the "ribbons" extending from them are essentially tentacles. Imagine how creepy looking Meowscarada's "mask" or Raboot's "hoodie" would look shaved. They would look like large, hideous growths on the latter's neck and the former's face.
