  • "Forgive us. The flies have gone from us unfortunately. Ponies are very easy to care for. And the tea gets a light farmhouse flavor. In our upscale dining, only the best for our guests."

    German
"Verzeihen sie uns. Uns sind leider die Fliegen ausgegangen. Dafür sind Ponys sehr Pflegeleicht. Und der Tee bekommt ein leichtes Bauernhof Aroma. In unser gehobenen Gastronomie, nur das beste für unsere Gäste."

  • for those that know rarity's "marsh mellow pony" joke. I've seen an image where she's in a cup of hot chocolate.
so fowling these rule, dose that make rainbow dash the equivalent of a tea bag?

  • I think its hilarious how me and Meguroko Zylveon 's comments got downvoted just because we mentioned a pony's death in any shape or form. You people need to get a grip lol.

Probably because joking about a beloved character's death is tasteless and inconsiderate.

Nevertheless it's just a character. No need to be butthurt over it.

  • I can never read anything about "a fly in my X" without thinking of Eurojoke time.

It's not about the character. It's about the lack of tact. If I said "X was sitting down for dinner, but then he died, lol," it wouldn't be funny, no matter who "X" was.

The situation never began with what you described. If you go to the top of the comments and click on the "Comments Below Threshhold" link/button, you'll see how it started.

This "joke" doesn't say anything clever or unexpected,

"Terribly sorry, sir. We'll throw that into the incinerator, immediately!"

I'd say that was pretty unexpected.
It's also a darker humor than most people can handle, which also means they don't exactly have a firm grip on what to expect when they're dealing with people on the internet, so if you get offended by a joke somebody makes on the internet, then its your own fault for not being prepared / letting mommy/daddy turn on your content filter.

When I said that humor is based on being unexpected, that was actually an over-simplification of how it works. To be precise, humor is the brain's way of rewarding us for making it improve itself.

When someone starts to tell a joke, our brains automatically and subconsciously form a conclusion to the joke based on our experience. When the punchline is reached, it's usually quite different from the conclusion we already had, but also makes logical sense. In response, our brains form new neural pathways to include the alternate logic, and follow that with a burst of endorphins. This is also why people feel good after solving a puzzle.

Anyway, your joke is quite expected and predictable. If someone were to find any kind of foreign substance in their food, especially a living thing, the server would be expected to dispose of it in some way.

In essence, the picture itself is a joke (albeit not a good one, as it's just a play on the old fly in the soup trope). Your response, although exaggerated, was what a server would be expected to do. As it is, most people grow out of their "exaggerated humor" stage between the ages of 5-8, which means that your joke would have very little appeal on a website that caters to adults.

Don't worry, I'm not offended. Only disappointed. Maybe when you're out of your "exaggerated humor" stage, we can all have a laugh together.

Look kiddo, I'm glad you know how to reword what Wikipedia explained to you in more detail, but that's not necessarily how humor works.
Humor is forever changing and forever going to be different. Humor does not have boundaries, as you are implying, therefore everything you've said up to now doesn't exactly matter. Humor comes in any shape or form and can be seen as funny by whomever. If you didn't find it funny then get over it and move on, if you did, then good for you, its your type of humor.
But just so you know; using the old "I'm going to insult you in a logical manner and make it seem funny" is something that belongs to 4chan fedora wearing nobodies who have nothing to do but sit on their arses with a hole cut in their computer chair so that they can shit into the bucket they have placed underneath them, so don't try explaining to me how Humor works when the only thing relatively close to being funny was....well, nothing.

I'm right and you're wrong, Nana nanana.

The book you linked is about why we laugh at certain things. It does not, however, tell you what is and is not funny, which you are clearly stating.
Plagiarism is the act of copying down a fornal/legal document, a trademarked logo, or a page of text written by somebody who owns it and gets paid for it, ect. I clearly stated:I'm glad you know how to reword what Wikipedia explained to you in more detail. Taking something and changing the words is not plagiarism. Using, let's say somebody else's paragraph, for something that gives you gain without changing up its content is plagiarism.
Now I'll say it again since your mind seems to be unable to conceive it:
If you didn't find it funny, then too bad, move along and quit worrying about it. If you did, then cool. Good for you.

Bullshit. I do. (I don't like starting them, just reading them)

I'm with Sir Raichu on this one. He made a joke, and because it's the brony fandom, of course everyone and their goldfish downvotes him. I have no issues with bronies, nor MLP, but I do know that they are one of the most overly defensive fandoms I've ever come across.

All I'll say to Rayzr is that maybe he should keep that in mind the next time he jokes about one of the characters' deaths or pretty much anything bad happening to them. Assuming he cares about not getting downvoted, that is.

For what it's worth, I laffed.

    I always can see why bronies are defensive. Go out in public or on ANY website and say you like a show about ponies, 99% of the people who respond will say "Go kill yourself, faggot". ;~;

That's a sad symptom of the degradation of our society. That a boy or man can't show interest in something feminine or childish (read: youthful, not immature) without being openly ridiculed is absolutely ridiculous.

Personally, I'm not a brony. I like some of the art, I think the show is cute, but I don't subscribe to the fandom as I'm really not much into cartoons that aren't dark, gritty anime. I'll never have issues with those who do subscribe to the fandom though, so long as they don't needlessly victimize themselves when nobody is actually attacking them.

  • Believe me when I say that I support everyone's right to an opinion, but what exactly did I say that someone disagreed with to the point they felt the need to downvote me?

    I'm honestly curious.

I did not think that my little pony comment would cause such a flameing disscusion. P:S. If the butler brings in a cup of tea It´s should be boiling hot am I right? so it woukd make sence for Rainbow dash to be boiled to death by that point. Logic.
