  • actually not always true. pre-gender difference feature pokemon art still exists. and some are too lazy to draw the heart shape. but if it was made nowadays i suppose it would be. carry on sir and ignore my ADD.

i love me some cuntboy pikachus~.
Cuz if you know anything about pokemon you know that a female pikachu have a heart shape on there tail. So you wouldn't mistag a cuntboy as femail.... right? :[

Yes, because as we all know, being a male with a vagina is a lot more plausible than being a girl with an extra bit of tail. [/sarcasm]

I love Pikachu but I don't get why people make such a big deal about a dang bit cut out (or not) of the tail

Because if you play the actual games, it serves as an extra identification of pokemon being sexually dimorphic.

Looking at the moustache length of an alakazam tells the gender. Looking at the coloration of a hippodon tells the gender. Looking at Garchomp's fin tells the gender. Looking at a pikachu's tail tells the gender.

Had this image been made before gen 4 was made? Female would be a simple tag and not argued.

Being made/uploaded AFTER gen 4? Crossgender applies as the tail indicates male.

  • But these games are still played, right? You can still catch a female Pikachu without a heart-shaped tail in Emerald and this Pikachu could be based of that.

What I see is a pregnant, female Pikachu.

Lore-based sexual dimorphism is not used when tagging. This is a female, not a cuntboy.

I can see you're an admin and would like to bring this into question in a reasonable manner.

Is your statement based on the fact that it has two eyelashes?

Because there is nothing here other than that to honestly deny the application of the cuntboy tag.

I'm merely asking to better grasp the tagging methods here so I don't mis-tag something.

Why was this downvoted. he simply asked a question in a reasonable manner?

Best guess would be someone thinking I'm "trying to start drama", but I honestly am curious.

    See howto:tag_genders.
Fem genitals, no breasts, unknown body type = tag female.
Unless you have definitive evidence of a masc body type for a feral Pikachu, tagging defaults to female rather than cuntboy. The comments on this post seem to indicate that there isn't a solid consensus either way, so categorizing it as unknown body type makes the most sense.

There actually is a very obvious, canonical visual cue for the gender of a pikachu, and there has been since September 28th, 2006. The above image was made July 11th, 2015, 9 years afterwards of this discovery.

The canonical difference between a male and female is the end of the tail.

    Shown here

A female pikachu has a heart shape at the tip.

This would tell any viewer that the pikachu is female, without needing to see eyelashes or sexual organs.

This ALSO says that a flat ended tail would be a male. The above image here is therefore a contradiction as it was NOT made prior to the sexual dimorphism that people are trying to point out as proof of gender.

The above argument in the comments seems to simply favor a more petty bickering mindset instead of looking over the supporting facts, thus leading to the current tag of "female", despite there being traits of male and female in the above character, which would normally facilitate the application of an intersex based tag for the gender.

This is why I'm confused and asking as to why "female" is the hard coded listing for the above image instead of an intersex tag beyond the argument of "I don't like the gender differences that were introduced in gen 4 because I don't like anything that contradicts my opinion/feelings/nostalgia."

While I won't alter the tags, unless an admin can explain why not or the artist can be asked for background fact, I strongly urge for the intersex tag to be applied here.

that whole pikachu sexual dimorphism thing is 100% external knowledge. thats why it doesnt have weight in gender tagging.

    That's rather... strange.

If that's the case, then Rathian and Rathalos will have to be listed as "ambiguous_gender" as well as all pikachu and pokemon unless sexual organs are on display, but that's not how they are tagged.

The implications of that are exceedingly odd as the rules seem to apply perfectly fine to all images except this picture.

Why is a new set of rules being established for this one image?

its... not just this image? its not new set of rules?? like "tag what you see, not what you know" is basically this site's core tagging rule. just because people commonly mistag something doesnt mean that its not wrong, if you see people tagging genders based on external knowledge, you are supposed to fix the tags and report the user if tagging genders incorrectly seems like their habit.

    Duly noted.

Also, dunno why I got a downvote hate parade. I just asked questions to get clarified answers.
