Perspective. In the first panel, she''s looking down, mouth closed. Small diagonal profile. In the second, her head is tilted up to face the viewer, and she's yelling- so full profile, and wide jaw = larger visible surface area. Plus puffy hair at the two differing angles, and you get the optical illusion here.
