  • I like the new forms, I hope both forms are available though, an excuse to have two vulpix/ninetails on one team :3

They are refering to the white Vulpix, they announced it today. The Vulpix is an "Alola"

The white one is from Alola. Alola is where S&M is set.

  • Wait, they gave Vulpix a new form in Alola?! This is the start of a beautiful new age, when Pokemon get different forms not from weather or season, but from continent. More reason to trade between different regions!

Assuming S&M is reverse compatible with previous games...

    Pokemon S&M... sounds SOOOO wrong...

It's less a new forme and more a case of divergent evolution (in the Darwinian sense). Icepix is local to a specific Alolan mountain.

This isn't the first time divergent evolution has been used - Shellos and Basculin both are examples, if less extreme.
