han characters

Ideographs used in writing Chinese, Japanese, Korean (historically, only in occasional contemporary usage) and some minority languages in China, currently or historically. They are variously called "hànzì" in Chinese, "kanzi" in Japanese, "hanja" in Korean, and "hán tự" in Vietnamese, all written as "漢字" and translating to "han character".
