Alolan Sandshrew is a Ice/Steel type variant on "normal" Sandshrew, a Ground-type Pokémon.

Sandshrew's body changed to adapt to the harsh environment of the snowy mountains. The Alolan Sandshrew has a shell of ice covering its skin, which is like hard steel.

Alolan Sandshrew is a bipedal pangolin Pokémon. Its white hide has a brick pattern similar to an igloo, but its underbelly and muzzle are a creamy yellow. Alolan Sandshrew has almond-shaped eyes, a pointed snout, and triangular ears. Its tail is thick and conical. It has two long claws on each foot and three sharp claws on its forepaws, which are used to burrow.
