A collar is a device that snaps, buckles, and/or otherwise secures (locks) around one's neck. Once worn, a leash may be attached to the collar so as to yank/drag/lead/further humiliate/dominate/domesticate etc. the wearer. Symbolic of ownership, when worn, a collar is usually indicative of a state of submissiveness on the part of the wearer, and if a leash is attached and held by another, then that is usually indicative of a state of dominance on the part of the holder of said leash over the wearer of the collar it is attached to, as in petplay/slaveplay and other BDSM related scenarios/activities.
