A drawstring refers to the elastic string in clothing that can be used to tighten the given attire. It is most commonly used in pants instead of a belt, and is a common feature of hoodies, sweatpants, and other athletic wear. Shoelaces are also a type of drawstring, but probably shouldn't be tagged as one.

Although not commonly drawn, drawstrings are also a feature of tote bags.
