Character: thanquol
Grey Seer Thanquol is a major character from Warhammer Fantasy, belonging to a species of anthropomorphic rats known as the Skaven. He is also a recurring antagonist of the Warhammer Fantasy book-series "Gotrek & Felix".
Thanquol belongs to the sorcerer caste of the Skaven known as the "Grey Seers", who are chosen at birth to become part of the order should they possess horns and albino fur. He is accompanied by his beastly Rat Ogre bodyguard, Boneripper (though Thanquol frequently replaces Boneripper with new Rat Ogres, also named Boneripper, whenever his latest Boneripper is slain)
He is the Arch-Enemy of the heroic duo known as Gotrek Gurnisson (a dwarfen slayer) and Felix Jaeger (a human playwright), whom the Grey Seer greatly despises with a passion for having (unwittingly) foiled several of his plans for power and glory amongst the Skaven hierarchy.
Though a powerful sorcerer, he is rather incompetent, and would have likely met his end several times were it not for his luck.
During the apocalyptic event known as the "End Times", Thanquol became the highest ranking Greyseer in thanks to having received the patronage of Skreech Verminking (the mightiest of the Verminlord's) and managed to ally the Skaven Under-Empire with the Forces of Chaos. What happened to Thanquol afterwards is unknown, but he is known to have survived the destruction of the Warhammer World.
In warhammer: Age of Sigmar , he now goes by the title of the "Grey Lord". During one of his schemes against the Forces of Order, he discovers to his horror and frustration that his arch-enemy, Gotrek Gurnisson, has managed to survive the old world's destruction, and yet again ruins his plans.
