When a character expresses an intention, implied or explicit, to do something undesirable to someone else.

This may be only a vague threat, like "you'll pay for this", "I'm going to teach you a lesson", or "you're going to be sorry". Alternatively, the threat may specifically reference what kind of undesirable action will be enacted on or undesirable result will occur to the target of the threat.

Most often, threatening involves a threat of some sort of physical harm, whether it's a threat of being punched, bitten, or beaten, a threat of being shot or stabbed, or a threat of being killed.

While usually conveyed through dialogue, this may also apply to a character speaking in pictographics, using threatening gestures, or by holding a weapon to/pointing a weapon at, another character.

Threatening is often done in the context of a character giving a command to another, and threatening something undesirable if their command isn't followed. Threatening is also commonly seen when a character is forcing another to do something.
