Character: scp-6596
SCP-6596 is an undead equine character from the mythos of the SCP Foundation website. Its debut story, SCP-6596 — 8 Mile: The Beast of Lust and Hatred Born was posted two day before Christmas of 2021 by its authors, LORDXVNV and PlaguePJP, and is a part of Chapter 3 of the From 120's Archives canon. Is an interpretation of the Mari Lwyd of Welsh mythology; not all Mari Lwyd posts are SCP-6596.
SCP-6596 is an unguligrade anthro of an animated horse skeleton, shrouded entirely in a white cloak. It is decorated across its body with various colorful strings, ribbons, and baubles, including a pair of silver glass ornaments suspended in its skull's eye sockets.
Sapient and adherent to custom, SCP-6596 behaves per the conventional traditions of the Mari Lwyd in Welsh culture, with addition of paranormal powers to aid it in its endeavors. It regularly uses superhuman reflexes and the ability to instantaneously teleport to easily evade any assailants and obstacles. It is also presumed to have a pocket dimension under it's cloth, located in or around the ribcage, which it employs for storage purposes. It is classified as Keter since its elusiveness has left it uncontained, with potentially more unknown capabilities posing further risk.
Since the SCP Foundation's first encounter with it in 2005, SCP-6596 has annually manifested in the first week of December on the premises of Site-120: the headquarters of the Foundation's Department of Ontokinetics, located outside Częstochowa, Silesian Voivodeship, Poland. Speaking entirely in rhyming song, SCP-6596 will request Site-120's staff to allow it inside the facility as it is in search for food and beverage. SCP-6596 can only be stalled if they are responded to in song denying it; if this is not done or the response is either delayed, fumbled, or not of a "jolly enough" quality that suits SCP-6596's standards, SCP-6596 will teleport into Site-120 to ransack the entire facility of all food.
In attempts to deny SCP-6596, Site-120's staff have secured or relocated all food off-site in anticipation of SCP-6596's arrival. These provisions have been ineffective, as SCP-6596 has additionally stolen the obstacles and miscellaneous objects in retaliation of no food. It has been responsible for the theft of furniture, containers, doors and windows, tools, all blank papers, all computer processors, three vehicles, an SCP-048, and even a researcher that attempted to teleport it away into a reality-anchored containment chamber at Site-19.
The most concerning action made by SCP-6596 was its retaliation to the provisions made in 2020, when Site Director Daniel Asheworth allowed it entrance to a Site-120 that had been completely evacuated and emptied of everything that could be moved. Offended by the reception, SCP-6596 reasoned that it had not "proven [its] power" and promptly stole the names Dr. Asheworth and Site-120, an ability shown by the nameless fae of SCP-4000, which SCP-6596 claimed as its home. While records of Mari Lwyd have been available to the non-anomalous public since 1800, the Foundation was able to identify SCP-6596 in tomes recovered from SCP-4000, wherein it was characterized as a trickster entity representative of gluttony and greed.
In one of the possible canons and endings, SCP-6596 was contained by SCP-001-IHP/LOCKE's Proposal: Keter Duty, which takes 2 SCPs and has them mutually contain each other. SCP-6596 was contained by gifting him with cell phones containing SCP-1471, who became his girlfriend. SCP-6596 subsequently returned Site-120 and Dr. Ashenworth's names.
