A labrys is an ancient Greek short-handled, broad-headed, symmetrical double bitted axe.

It has been used as a symbol by many ancient religions, political movements, and social movements (such as the lesbian community).

It's also one of the popular weapons depicted in fantasy settings, often as some form of battle axe.
