Character: jimmy possum
Jimmy Possum was essentially a fursona for James S. Sherman, Vice President to U.S. President William Taft (term 1909-1913). Jimmy was an opossum to mirror Billy Possum, Taft's animal persona created as a failed replacement for the teddy bear.
