pointe shoes
Footwear most commonly used by ballet dancers. These shoes that have an oval opening (similar to flats (shoes)), the box or the front end of the show that encloses and supports the dancer's toes; a full sole or two-part soles where one pad is on the ball of the shoe, and another at the heel; a ribbon which are attached to the shoe made out of fabic and an elsastic band which wrap around the dancer's ankle in opposite directions.
Most pointe shoes are seen as pink like the common ballet outfit but come in a variety of colors to compliment the dancer's outfit.
Not to be confused with flats_(shoes) which aren't for dancing and are commonly without ribbon straps.
