Does that mean we should, or should not use muzzle shape as a gender characteristic.

It means don't ceaselessly try to convince people that something should be tagged a certain way if absolutely nobody would have a problem with it being tagged the "incorrect" way. Does that mean abandon TWYS? Does that mean all pictures are now up for having their tags reevaluated? No, it means, in this particular instance, don't fight common sense.

Follow TWYS as long as it's actually beneficial to do so, not just for the sake of following rules.

And for god's sake, I know you guys care a lot about the site, but it's not worth getting at each other's throats over it. :P You're talking about how to properly catalog furry porn on the internet; I assure you, that isn't worth fighting over. It's worth doing well, because it IS something that is very useful for a not insignificant amount of people (e621 is the 2nd most popular furry site on the internet at the moment), but don't let it get to you.

I only want a short and simple clarification so I know what I should/shouldn't do.

Again, you're looking for definitive guidelines and I'm telling you that that's not going to be possible. If I say "sure, use muzzle shape", then at some point down the line THAT will cause a conflict too.

Or as neither.

See.... He gave you an answer and you look for whats wrong. Dude if you want to know what you should/shouldn't do? Do nothing because if that didn't explain it to you only and all my posts didn't, I don't know what would. Even if I explain it again, you'll just say I'm wrong no matter what....

See, this is why I refuse to associate with bronies.

Out of ALL the people who should understand the values of friendship and understanding, bronies somehow manage to fail completely at it.

Problem is, common sense to me says, look at the image and tag what it looks like to you.
Common sense to someone else might be to tag female characters as female, or for that matter if they agree with my common sense, they still might disagree with how a particular image "looks".

If we're still going with "ask a moderator for a final call" in disagreements, that's fine too, provided that happens when requested, and both sides of the disagreement abide by it.

I just want tags to be as accurate as possible, with as few arguments as possible.

They would kill to love and tolerate. I'm just a blissfully ignorant brony (well, not exactly a brony. I just happen to like ponies [then again, this is my manliest phrase >_>])

But right now... your the one causing arguments over tags. And as char said

(spoiler: there is no perfect system).

It takes 2 to make an argument.

I did answer that question lol that the point. I am not going to answer it again. And Muzzle shape is cannon it was made by the creates of the show.... Atleast read my post to you...

No, muzzle shape is not canon. It's guess made by fans who choose to ignore or hand wave counter-examples.
You were asked few times to give source why should this be regarder as canon, and you've failed. But apparently you still rather insist that everyone who don't agree with you have not read/understood what you've written.

I'm against not confirmed fandom rules being used because once show will introduce something that contradicts them it will cause mass tag change. Let's stick to something that isn't variable, and will not change no matter what happens in the show.

Why is there so much aggression in this thread? It's really off putting when trying to read posts. At least try and make your arguments civil rather then spamming tickets on each other!

That's why I left this thread and randomly comment every now and then… Just let them bite themselves. *gets popcorn* Want some?

…but seriously, lay off the tickets. This ain't a theater… they don't come cheap…

People argue about tags as if it's their own religion. :p As Xch3l said, it's really fun to watch.

Char said:

but char, I already came up with the perfect system, we use the server to render tags automatically based on what the server thinks is in the image. It's perfect! Computers can always render things 100% right all the time! Anyone who disagrees would be banned on the spot.

He was making fun of the bad grammar.
To be fair, Tauxiera's is worse, some times I can't even tell what they mean.
Falord I can usually figure it out.

Tauxiera has an excuse though, it's a second language.

Question is. What's Aurali's excuse? :p

You assume I am American.

On the Internet, everyone is assumed to be a straight white male American middle-class nerd, unless proven otherwise.

You mean everyone's a Gay white male working class idiot.

Man, you were so off on that.

Straight person? On a furry site? Nah.

No one thinks anyone is female on the internet.

Anyhow. I'm only 2 of the things Munkelzahn listed. Guess which they are. :3

Walrus would be my first guess.

I'm still disappointed no one apparently actually got my joke.

You mean that by calling certain person Tauxiera you didn't (only) mean bad grammar, but also attitude?

For a "Privileged" user, whom most would assume should probably set an example of better behavior - instead of just acting better.

So basically yes.

Updated by anonymous

Taux probably never finished his first language or highschool. Dunno why anyone expects him to be decent at the second.

I expect to see only discussion about the update to the TWYS rule from here on.

He's not a privileged user.

Okay, so I have question about 2 types of pictures:

1.
We're not tagging characters that were only mentioned in dialog? I removed Luigi, and Klonoa tags from this picture because I think that it is misleading.

2.

Some characters are tagged because there is disembodied penis that is in the same color that their canon bodies. On first picture some penises also have cutie marks.

Is penis, even with cutie mark, enough hint to tag a character?

Gilda_The_Gryphon said:

With the cutie mark, i'd lean towards yes. Without it, no.

Updated by anonymous

If the source specifically mentions each character I would say tag it as well, provided the coloring fits the character.
That would be in line with the new rule exception imo.

But, no source info, no tags.

That's dumb. That's like how deviant art and FA handle tagging.. and uugh that's the worst idea.

e621 is owned by Dragonfruit Ventures LLC, not Bad Dragon. We do run a business here, and that business is what keeps the lights on, you just get the byproduct of said business, a free website for you to browse completely unhindered~
