Well, in that case he'd be reprimanded for harassment rather than roleplaying. Even then, we'd only take punitive action if he were actually badgering the other user; if it were some kind of misunderstanding and he quickly apologized for it the most he'd get would be a stern talking-to.

You can RP in private. Just make sure the person you're interacting with gives you their consent.

Edit: Talked to some other administrators about it. Approach RP'ing in e621 the same way you'd approach having sex in a hotel:

-If someone agrees to it, you're allowed to bring that person into your room and have sex with them (RP'ing through private messages with another consenting user).

-You're not allowed to have sex in the lobby or foyer (RP'ing in the comments/forum),
-You're not allowed to offer sex out of one of the rooms and turn the building into a brothel (soliciting RP in the comments/forum).
-You're not allowed to force another person into your room to have sex with you (harassing another user to RP with you).

You can do whatever you want in PMs, we don't care. As long as you're not harassing someone, it's not our concern whether you're having a conversation or humping the night away or pretending to be ponies or whatever weird things people do in PMs.

Admins can see the IP Adress of most anything happening, including every post/comment/forumspost/PM/blip, account creations and possibly tag changes and wiki edits.

The more interesting question would be if they can see everything happening from one IP in one big list or something. And if the IP ends at the router or at the Device, but it should end at the router.

Kind of. We can see how many specific actions are shared with specific IP's across every user who shares them. In this case, dozens of accounts were created using the same IP. Which is strange.

Are they all inactive, or out of the 30 are there actually some active users?

The account names may be clues to some hidden treasure. Or his intentions, or something completely unrelated.

Ok one more question, and you all seem wise folks who know what your talking abott, would it be an issue if I made a off-topic topic basically saying "I'm looking for anybody who would be up for an RP over Pm, if anybody would be up for it.

If he were actually trying to solicit roleplay, we'd edit his post, remove the solicitation, reprimand him for it, and if he continued beyond that we'd ban him.

If you actually make that thread, we will actually delete it and actually give you a negative record for it.

I apologize if I'm being harsh, but we're very stringent about keeping roleplay and sexual dialogue in general to an absolute minimum within the public sectors of the site.

Non sexual rp pms should be ok. Just a word of warning though, cookies defeats all(cake too).

Oh, and when we say we disallow RP in comments and forum posts, we're referring to sexual roleplaying.

Non-sexual roleplaying is permissible to an extent.Keep in mind we're very conservative about the amount of RP'ing allowed on the site. If you're questioning whether or not you're taking a particular roleplay too far, you're better off assuming you are.
