Topic: Are E621 blacklists broken.

Posted under General

Hello everyone, waverun here. So, important question I'm going to ask.

Is the blacklisting feature broken?

I tried to test whether or not my newly added blacklists worked, but they didn't. So I tried to test it even further by copying all my blacklists, then deleting them, saving the settings, and going into the posts, seeing they were unblacklisted. But when I re-added them back (via pasting) , they wouldn't show up in the posts page when I reloaded it.

Is something wrong?

Please, my furry brothers and sisters. Help me and give me answers that I need.

Blacklisting items requires that they be on separate lines. For example:
cub male/male
will only block male/male cub images, while
cub
male/male
will block both separately.

make sure that the unblacklisted posts have the blacklisted tags in the first place. also make sure that underscores are where they belong for example if you want to get rid of cock and ball torture, you would need to put cock_and_ball_torture in your blacklist. also each entry must be in their own line.

like

cat dog

hides posts that contain tags cat AND dog

catdog

hides posts that conatin tags cat or dog or both.

Not that the plural of anecdote is data, but for what it's worth mine seems to be working. But I only mostly block MLP. If Mutisija and Furrin's suggestions don't work, you might check to see if some sort of corrupted cookie or auto-fill or something is keeping the site from being able to update your preference?

It's all how it should be. But none of the blacklists work.

Do you have cookies enabled? I recall asking an admin why my blacklist carried over when I wasn't using my account, and I think they said it was stored in the cookies. Don't quote me, can't remember exactly.

Just tested and it's working fine for me. It's important to note that blacklist removes image from search results, but doesn't remove image from its own page.

That is, if you actually open up post #9999 you'll see the image even if female is in your blacklist.

Oh I get it. It was because I had too many blacklists. I fixed it now.
