Topic: How do the people feel about antics?

Posted under General

So what sort of repercussions should someone expect if they posted some joke translations?
Like, there's a serious comic, but it's posted in korean, and someone decides as a joke to make people spout memes or insert a random "DONGER" or something in the translation?
Asking for a friend.

I've seen a number or warnings and records in the past for people "being funny" with notes.

Point of notes is to provide useful information, accurate translations, and typo/grammar fixes.

Making incorrect/joking translations is considered Abuse of site tools. I reported someone for plastering a post without text with notes a while ago, and they got slapped for it (just a single post, not that gargantuan spam-parade we had a month or so back). So yeah, not a good idea.
I haven't seen anyone making false translations, though.

Yeesh, that spam parade was hellish. I felt like I was part of a war or something with helping Chaser remove all of those spam notes.

Good thing a limit to notes was put in for Members.

Fair enough, just figured I'd ask before the friend in question did something dumb. Thanks for the help!

If I sees it, I deletes it.

Someone translated a bunch of "ah"s as a bunch of "achoo"s earlier. I want to believe that was a joke.

the swastika's, right? those things were rather thick and lag inducing. like 20-50 layers on each post affected leading to hundreds of notes to remove per post.

I'm both glad and a little guilty that I missed all of that.

For a second I thought the title was referring to "Admin Antics".

I miss the days when Ippiki was allowed to ban in song.

Song, poem, don't care. It was quite amusing. The one for Derpy's Auger was my favorite.
