I am sure there are a few people here that have watched or are currently watching the show.

I am a couple episodes into the second part of the second season... and I dont think I can watch any more.

The story line has just turned into a bloody soap opera and there are inconsistencies that make the Westboro baptist Church members look like scientists.

How on earth is this show being considered so great. I honestly feel like I have been cheated out of 10 hours of my life. Is there something I am missing, or does the show get a whole lot better with the last 5-6 episodes of season 2 and season 3?

Just trying to figure out if I should keep watching it or not, for right now I am rooting for the zombies to kill all but 3 or 4 characters .

I honestly don't know either. I love zombie movies but, like you said, it's more a friggen soap opera than anything else.
I also dropped it early into the second season. I was also pissed to hear they killed of Dale without even letting him get his dick wet.

Well that sucks, that was one of the few characters I was rooting for (Dale, Daryl, Glen, and the chick that wants to commit suicide.)

Season one was awesome.
Season two dragged on far too long.
Season three seams to picking up the pace again quite nicely.

Have they "cleaned up" the inconsistencies in the 3rd season, or are they still rampant?

Inconsistent how? There's gotta be some plot development in between zombie killing. The point of the show isn't just a huge zombie killfest, it's about surviving and trying to adapt to the new world.

Plus I noticed immediately that the walking dead wasn't just about zombies. The soap opera thing is actually pretty accurate but I think the show is great as it is.

I hate inconsistancies with a passion, and when I see many of them they kill the experience for me.

The last episode I watched was season 2 episode 11 "judge, jury, and executioner." There were a few incongruities here and there before, but this episode took the cake.

First off, we know that people turn into walkers from either bites and/or scratches. This was even confirmed in this episode. Rick baits in a zombie so that he can kill it quietly. How does he do this? He cuts his own finger, and spreads the blood on the fence. This attracts the zombie, and rick stabs it.... With the same bloody hand. If a scratch infects you and a bite infects you, why the hell does he intentionally get the walker's blood into his fresh (10 seconds on the most) wound??

This also happens again with Shane doing the same fucking thing in the bus. And also rick shooting three walkers ontop of him, literally getting walker blood in his mouth that he spits out....? How the hell does this not turn them??

Another one from this episode is that fresh blood, once sensed, attracts the walkers and they lap it up like you would expect any zombie would.

But wait...? Didn't T-Dog get a major arterial cut on the highway earlier in the season? His cut was so bad that it sprayed over the ground, cars, and Daryl profusely. And yet 50-100 walkers went by with no sense to the copious amount of fresh blood?. I can understand if they can smell people, but not blood (and the reason why T-Dog's blood did not frenzy the walkers), but this was contradictory to S2EP11. Yes, now the only thing I can think of is that Walkers are racist and only go after white peoples' blood....

I like the drama aspect of the show, but it seems to be overtaking everything in high stupidity and the writers do what ever they wish to make sure that certain characters live and certain ones die no matter how stupid their actions are.

Does stuff like this get better in the third season? Or if I watch it, will I just keep getting annoyed due to the same inconsistencies/stupidity?

Every movie or show has small things that don't make sense. That stuff is pretty trivial and doesn't really effect the main plot so much.

Maybe you shouldn't look at the tiny things and just try to enjoy the show, not picking apart every little detail in a fictional show.

Also I think it would be pretty boring to see rick turn because he got some blood sprayed in his eye or something. And I'm not sure but I thought I heard someone in the show saying that the dead can smell the living even if they weren't wounded. But this information could have been bunk, like just rumors spread between survivors.

Plus, I don't think stabbing someone in the head or smashing their skull is as easy as the show makes it out to be, but I can still enjoy it. It's just fantasy afterall.

Stuff like the number of easy head shots they make, sounds not attracting walkers, etc are all forgivable by me. No show is perfect.

But to have one of the main characters die and turn into a walker from scratches, but let another main character bathe in walker blood and get walker blood into their very fresh wounds and nothing happens seems really messed up to me.

Not trying to pick apart ever little details for every show would have problems. But this show has some very blatantly bad incongruities that are hard to look past.

from what i've seen walking dead is mainly based around the interactions between humans in a post apocalyptic environment. i've found it interesting throughout since it hasn't disappointed delivering in this way.

Great game and great show.

The game is based on Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead comic book series, and will be developed and published by Telltale Games. I think most of us were talking about the show not the game :P

Not to say that the game wasn't great, though.
