Topic: Wierd/Silly Tags

Ok I know there are some really wierd/subjective tags out there, and theyre pretty large.

Tags like what and what_has_science_done immediately spring to mind, as well as lol_comments

Whats the story behind these tags? When is it right to use these? When is it wrong to use these?

Things like nightmare_fuel are extremely subjective so these wierd tags just seem.

Well; you know?

As for the story behind those: the original tagging standard was 'anything goes'. That's all there is to it. I doubt most of those would get approved nowadays.

Lot of old joke tags have been deleted recently. I actually miss some of them. Such as those_chocolates_where_everyone_always_eats_the_orange_cremes_before_you_get_any_and_all_you_get_is_the_coconut. Now that it's gone, the longest remaining one is that_one_bug_that_looks_like_a_croissant_that_you_can_freeze_and_use_as_a_platform.

Well, that's just horribly long and seems like a one time tag, should be put in the description of post #238952 instead of completely removed, that_one_bug_that_looks_like_a_croissant_that_you_can_freeze_and_use_as_a_platform at least serves some minor usefulness (even if they're canonically called rippers).

Edit: I should update pages before posting x.x
