It's 20 per hour, because people ruin everything for everyone.

Well, if the limit is 20 dmails per hour, then how exactly treos could have reached that with 1/30 of this number? There is a bug in that guava.
Edit:

I am not trying to mimic you, just typed too slowly.

There is also flood protection of 1 dmail per minute AFAIK.

uh...me and furrin gok have been using DMails to talk about DOOM and DOOM mod stuff instead of flooding the video game thread. >.>

It is certainly less.

I'll look into it, I may have messed it up while trying to raise the limit.

I thought it was actually meant to be two per hour from a few days ago when I accidentally sent myself a dmail.
We should have protection against that, by the way. Just a confirmation if we really want to send ourselves a dmail would help.

-1. I send myself Dmails all the time. What's there to confirm?

While I couldn't find anything explicitly wrong with the code, I cleaned it up and tested it again, and have deployed the changes.

Hence confirmation, not denial. If we can only send one per minute, accidentally sending to oneself simply because you forgot to change the recipient field is harmful.

Don't you need to fill that field manually? There shouldn't be a button on your profile to send yourself a dmail so kind of pasting your name there should already be a hurdle you'd need to take to send you one.

If I'm quoting a message that I sent to somebody, it autofills my own name rather than theirs. I do this when quoting their message to me, then a portion of mine to them from a previous dmail.

I have had this problem too. I am conversing with two people, and I send one message to one person, try to converse with the other only to send it and it says i hit my limit.

Ah, I must've hit the minute limit then. I'd appreciate having the limits posted to the dmail help/wiki page, would save a lot of confusion. Annoying that my message gets erased when that warning is triggered, it was only a small one this time but if I had been typing up messages in multiple tabs* (or if I was a fast typist) I could've had a large message lost to the ether if I tried to send it soon after one in a different tab.
*(like happened to Darkshadow there)

What? I'm recycling! XD
If that's frowned upon, I appear to have no way of knowing as I can't seem to find anything detailing what is or is not kosher.
https://e621.net/wiki/show/e621:forum is empty to the point of near-uselessness, the code of conduct just covers more serious offences, and I'm not finding any forum thread (sticky or not) concerning that.
Still, cool image.
