Posted under General

Hello, I am new here and i want to start adding content to my favorites, is it possible to 'follow/favorite' an artist so that I can see when they submit new content? Thanks in advance it might be a while before i can reply :P

Gotta make an account on one of FurAffinity, InkBunny, Tumblr, etc. websites and follow them there. And plus, this place usually doesn't get every post an artist makes, so you'd be missing out on a bunch of stuff anyway.

Okay well thank you anyways. I should probably just make an account and follow them on their main sources like you suggest.

Look at the "Good Artist Searches" list on my profile. The profile is a pretty good place to put those links.

You could also try using Tag Subscriptions but I think they are broken.

For artists who do main e621, just bookmark the search for that artist and load up that page every so often. You can even search for up to six artists and bookmark that one search: ~drachonicmentalist ~trout_(artist) ~ben300 ~the_weaver ~etheross ~r1nrina, etc. For more than six, you'll have to create an extra bookmark, but you can always edit them to include more until they reach six.

Basically that. You can instead/also add links to those artists in your profile. For instance too slow lol[/spoiler] E621 has a shortcut for searching tags: enclose them in two curly brackets. {{tag1}} or {{tag1 tag2}} for a combined search, up to six tags for normal users. You can use an external RSS service to subscribe to search results. I doubt any RSS service is ideal, but they are functional. Maybe if you looked hard enough, you could find an RSS service that filters (pseudo-blacklist). I went to the effort of setting up Feedly with 80+ feeds, but I can't remember why I decided not to use it.Here's some example screenshots and instructions. Maybe there's enough there to qualify as a mini-tutorial?

Also requires user level of privileged+

This is one of the many reasons why I always tell artists who decide to only post here to have the content somewhere else as well. It's much easier to simply go to site which was build around the idea that you can follow accounts where only single person is posting content.

The only way to do it here is by using your browser bookmark function. I've looked for that option myself.

Not only are they broken and priv+ but the UI and references to them are going away in the next release. Removing the UI for them was long time coming, they didn't work when I joined, and I haven't found a chance to fix them. It was a neat idea, but the system just doesn't keep up with how they work.

Hopefully none of the other spaghetti noodles slid into that one. Removing something sounds like it should be safer than adding, but as messy as I've heard the code is who knows.
