Topic: New to e621; have a question regarding uploads

Posted under General

First off, I'm relatively new around here and I apologise in advance if this has been posted in the wrong category.

So let's get to the question. I'd like to upload an anonymous commission of mine here, but the artist chose not to upload it to her own gallery so I can't give out the source (although she did give me approval of posting it here). In this case do I still keep the source field empty?

FYI, as opposed to the generic unknown_artist tag, we also have anonymous_artist for posts from artists who do not wish to be identified. If an artist ever uploads such work to one of their galleries, then they are no longer "anonymous" and the tag wouldn't be appropriate.

Yes, I highly recommend utilizing anonymous in cases where artist wishes to not be known. Because unknown_artist is indicating that artist needs to be found out, but nobody thus far knows it, so there might be some users searching for it, even if they wanted to stay anonymous.

though i dont think that this is what this topic is referring to. anonymous commission means that the commissioner wishes to remain anonymous, not the artist. op was wondering what to do with sourcing in situations when the post is not uploaded on artist's gallery.

This is actually what I'm also referring to.
