Flash is basically dead at this point. I know Flash animation is fairly common here, but I sincerely hope this site stops encouraging flash usage in the future, seeing how new exploits keep getting found, and this site is quite literally the last site I'll probably ever visit that still has a use for it.

Flash videos are relatively easy to do, but even easier to convert to a video format, so that base is covered.

Flash games... well, yeah, they're going to have to go sooner or later. I'm thinking soon Flash won't even be a supported format on popular browsers (like Chrome), meaning it'll be outright banned by Google for having too many security holes.

I dunno what can be done about flash games here. Maybe HTML5 has similar support?

Anyway, not hating on flash content, I personally love it. Just saying, Flash is definitely going. It's just a matter of when. I just want furry artists to be ready when it happens. :3

We are investigating a pure JavaScript based flash player that might be added to the site to allow flash games to work even without the plugin.
We are also investigating possible solutions to html5 based games to be uploaded.

Are HTML solutions comparable to pure Flash in performance?

I have been drumming this for years already and constantly telling artists to directly use video formats whenever they just can. We also just got thumbnail support for WebM files which makes them even more desireable format to use on video like content. Biggest issue still is sites like FA which artists are using and which do not provide any kind of support other than flash.

Looking at the uploads, flash is getting constantly more rare to see.

how about unity?

Unity nowdays is also using HTML5. Their earlier implementation which required browser extension has already been mostly phased out and unuseable with some browsers.
