Topic: Should inferior/duplicate posts be kept in a pool along with the superior version?

Posted under General

Sometimes I come across a pool containing a number of deleted posts and when I check the reason I discover that they are inferior/dupes of other posts in the pool. Is there a reason to keep it like that or should they be removed from the pool?

Replaced/deleted pages should be removed from the pools. No need to keep them there, they only break the flow when browsing the pool.

If they ever get undeleted, it's easy enough to add them back in.

What Genjar said, but it's also worth noting that inferior posts that had been parented normally will have a parent post ID that links back to an active post, which should be in the pool by then.

Basically, it's redundant to keep them in the pool and can actually negatively effect the pool by disrupting the flow between pages. The superior post should replace the inferior's spot ASAP since that isn't automated when the inferior is deleted.

I would actually like it if those flagging posts as inferior would at the same time fix the pooling. Staff doesn't always have extra time to do that for you after handling your flag.

How about a feature for that; when a a post in a pool gets deleted for inf/dupe the parent is added instead.
