Topic: How to tag myself as the artist?

Posted under General

I'm new around here and I want to start uploading regularly. My first few posts just label the artist as "None", but I made them so I just tagged myself in the description. Am I just dumb or is there actually a special way to do it?

Fixed it for you. To make something into an artist tag, prefix it with artist:. artist:NAME, for example

Make sure to double check in the tags search before changing the type of a tag tho, just in case you mess any tags that share the name up.

An artist tag is a tag like any other. First you have to set the type with artist:[your_tag] (no brackets); make sure that the tag doesn't already exist. Then you'll need to Dmail an admin to link the tag's wiki to your account. After that you can just add it as any other tag.

What this means, artist: is not part of the tag. If you were to type artist:dreathan and character:dreathan only one of them would be put on, and trying to add the other afterwards will replace the old one, as well ans change it for all previously existing copies of that. If you name a character after yourself, you'll want to have something like dreathan_(artist) and dreathan_(character).
