I think most people hang out in the discord these days.

That reminds me how The Chat tab in the header menu still hasn't been updated to point towards the official discord channel.

It's literally on the news section if anybody reads it.

Have tried to poke someone about this couple times now. IRC channel is still officially up, so would make more sense to have chat point towards both things, rather than open mibbit client directly.

At least I always read it and then close it, meaning I would have to google the news to see it again. Also the link was changed after initial news.

But the changed link also made the news appear again.

The news popped up twice. I think they deleted the original news so that people couldn't access that link, but I got in before the update, so despite closing that news once I got it a second time. I also had to get my username manually changed by staff.

Still wouldn't be a bad idea to have /static/irc point towards the Discord, either through redirection or just mention that the IRC is most likely going to be replaced by the official discord in the near future.
