Topic: Report a deletion by mistake

Posted under General

I had one of my posts deleted, but I never got a reason why is to it getting deleted, any help on how to resolve this? I’m new BTW, plus I didn’t receive a flag or anything, can someone please explain to me what’s up?

The short answer is basically everything.

The anatomy is bad, the right character has a face that makes no sense, one boob is 4 cup sizes bigger than the other, the hands awful. The character in the middle has one foot that's twice as large as the other, the bra strap apparently shifts through another dimension, one arm blends into the body. That entire character also has the linework resolution all over the place, as if you drew it small, enlarged it, then only drew in some other things. The tail is the other way round, you shrunk that down.

I'm pretty sure large parts of the background are also taken from photos and just slapped a lensflare and blur effect over it.

I do appreciate you letting me know, and I did draw everything you saw, I can’t help my anatomy sucks, I try to draw it the best I can, also the application I use has flare effects you can do a lot of customizing in the app to the brushes, And the application has blur tools you know, and I seriously hate being accused of things such as taken images, I drew the background, there is no background like what I just did on the internet, Again I do appreciate the response, but your not technically telling me how to get better, you just spat on the whole drawing and accused me out of nowhere of not even drawing it, I apologize if I sound mean, but, that was uncalled for. :/

The big things I can say to work on are solid lines (Image is a bit blurry, and has a photograph-of-traditional-media feel to it), and faces, hands, and feet. Not much advice I can give you on the hands and feet, but don't try to make the head with one single line, it winds up looking like a bean when you do.

Thanks so much for the advice, my artistic style has that vibe due to I’m better at drawing backgrounds then characters, again appreciate the advice:)

You didn't ask for suggestions how to improve, you asked for what was wrong. If you wanted a suggestions how to improve you should have asked for those. And for the photograph, you definitely drew most of it yourself, but I highly doubt the clouds are drawn.

As for getting better: draw from real life and reference it, don't take shortcuts like scaling parts of the image around, make sure things look coherent. Especially with hands and feet the only thing that help you improve is learn how to draw real hands. And that will require training, training, and more training.

I do thank you for suggestions, like I said to the previous person, I draw backgrounds better, I was in classes on background designs, I’m just better at backgrounds then anatomy, But I will most certainly take classes for drawing anatomy better, again I appreciate the advice, Like I said before there are tons of brushes used in the app, even for the clouds there’s a tool you can customize and mix brushes to create them in the design you see in the picture, some people have that issue where they make either the background or characters stand out more, my bud in high school has the issue, and I want to make my characters more complex, you know? Where they’d both match both background and characters, I will keep those opinions in mind and take classes to get better, and I hope you have a great rest of your day.

Hello :)

I thought I"d share a few thoughts here...

My best friend draws a lot... and... well, they went through a period where the highest compliment I could offer was "It doesn't look like you drew it!" ... basically meaning, she'd taken so many steps forward with her art that it looked better than I expected that she could do. I think that's what's being said about your backgrounds here--

I"ll be honest, that plane looks amazing :) and the carnival rides have this wonderful whimsical feel to them-- they're simple, but elegantly drawn-- they somehow make the whole image feel a bit whimsical, in ways.

What I"m saying is, I like the background! :)

The anatomy though... well.

That said, I think you have it in you to be really great :) Everyone does, of course, but there's... hmmm.. Sometimes you look at a drawing and you can see that someone will become good if they practice a lot.. and some other times, you can see that someone has a good grasp of art ideas and skills already, just no practice to make it up.

Both are fine-- we all have to start somewhere! You're one of the second, I think.

Your characters are posed in interesting ways, rather than just straight-on or a profile view-- that 'looking over shoulder' pose is intimidating to do and you tried it anyway! That's amazing! :) I think the facial expressions are pretty cute! At this point in your artistic progression, most people are mimicing anime eyes, or eyes from some other favorite cartoon. Yet, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like your faces before and that's honestly wonderful :)

You've got some really REALLY strong elements to your drawing-- I love the brown furred girl! I really like some parts of her: the posturing of her legs, her sandals, her position in general. Even though the artistic quality isn't very high, I can really clearly read a lot of emotion off of her. And man, that's SO hard to get, y'know? even good artists struggle with projecting emotion and personality, yet I have a really good idea in my head about what each of these girls are like as people :)

Just, the art skill isn't quite there yet.

Like NotMeNotYou said, I'd suggest drawing from real life... as well as copying other drawings. It's okay to copy, as long as you don't post that drawing. and I've always found it to be a good way to learn what something FEELS like when you draw it. You don't tend to notice all of the details in things until you DRAW it, y'know?

In one of my early art classes, my teacher took us outside, and gestured to a tree and told us "Draw that tree. You have 10 minutes." ...and after we drew that tree, she told us to draw it again, but differently. And again. and again. By the end of the 50 minute class, we all understood what THAT tree looked like. it wasn't just 🌳 ... we understood where the branches lived, there the branches bent, where the leaves were thick and the leaves were thin. We learned about that little broken branch and the twigs sticking up over there. We learned THAT tree, and it was amazing.

I would suggest drawing on your computer instead of your phone, but you have what you have :) Medibang paint is a pretty neat phone painting prgram though-- I"m not sure what you're using, though!

For this image in particular, my biggest complains are that the bigger lines look blurry and that makes them look further away, or really close, while the smaller ones are crisper -- ... it's especially noticable for the middle girl's tail-- it's an adorable tail, but it looks disconnected from everything around it. same with the back string of her swim suit, and her head feels different next to her body's lineart.

Anyway... become more familiar with your tools and study anatomy... Toony styles can be great, but you still gotta know the rules so you can be consistent when you break them.

I don't think you could clean up this picture well enough to get on here... but I think if you practice hard and continue to grow as an artist, you'll become good enough in time :)

I do appreciate all the tips, I’ll be sure to take them all in consideration and practice further on anatomy, again I thank you both for your advice. :) and again I’m not copying :/ I’m starting to get upset now, I said like three times I don’t steal nor copy peoples works, and I can’t believe for my first post I’m getting hammered like this, I’m just not interested in e621 anymore and no need to respond back, cause I’m not gonna even be back here to respond, I’ll be on some other art account, since I can’t delete my page, I’m just gonna go to some other art website where people don’t accuse people of stealing, again I do appreciate the help but, I’m trying to stay nice and cordial, but if you keep accusing me of stealing when I sat on my behind and worked for 3 in a half days on this artwork, I’m not gonna fight and argue cause arguing on something I didn’t do isn’t worth my time, thanks for the help, and have a great day.
